Troop News - 9/1/2025

Welcome back to another year of scouting.  An updated version or the 2025-26 calendar is attached.

Troop Meeting/Registration- Friday, September 5 at 7:30 in the LCH

  • Registration Fee is $165 for the year. If you cannot make it this Friday, but plan on registering, please let me know.  I need to know who will be in the Troop this year in order to prepare for JLT.

  • Class B uniforms

  • Attached is the updated Troop 37 Disciplinary Policy.  We would ask that everyone (parents and scouts) read it and sign the last page.  The signature page must be handed in at the time of registration.

  • First Class Requirement 10 is “Invite a Friend to Join Scouting”, so here is your chance to fulfill that requirement and invite someone to join.  If you get someone to join, you get a “Recruiter” patch for your uniform.  Attached is a recruiting flyer.

Junior Leader Training- September 19-21 at Pouch CampIf you received an invitation to JLT, please return the application to me on Friday, along with the attached Permission Slip and payment of $45. I need to know by this Friday who is attending.

Gettysburg- our first Troop wide trip of the year will be to Gettysburg, during Columbus Day weekend, October 10-13.  We will be completing the Gettysburg Historic Trails Hike, which involves 3 hikes through

Gettysburg and the battlefield of 2 ½ , 5 and 10 miles, a tour of the Visitors Center and Museum and tour of the Eisenhower farm.  Everyone completing all components will earn the Gettysburg trail medal.

The cost of the trip is $75, which includes cost of the medal, museum admissions, etc.  Given all the activities, this trip will probably extend to Monday, which is Columbus Day.  Permission slip is attached.  Payment is due ASAP, but no later than September 26.

Religious Emblems-Mrs. Perera and Mr. Jerome will once again be running the Catholic Religious Emblems program.  Scouts have the opportunity to earn the Ad Altar Dei Medal (grade school) or Pope Pius Medal (high school).  Dates for the Religious Emblems meetings are on the calendar.  If interested, please see Mrs. Perera on Friday.

Philmont Gear- Philmont guys, please return the Troop Gear you have on Friday.
