Troop News - 9/7/2026
Welcome back to another year of scouting. The latest version or the 2026-27 calendar is attached.
Parents Committee Meeting- Thursday, September 10 at 7:30- link to follow. Everyone is encouraged to join.
Troop Meeting/Registration- Friday, September 11 at 7:30 in the LCH
SPL Election- we have a contested race for Senior Patrol Leader this year, so we will be having an election on Friday. It is important for everyone to attend and vote for who they want running the Troop this year.
Registration Fee is $200 for the year. If you cannot make it this Friday, but plan on registering, please let me know. I need to know who will be in the Troop this year in order to prepare for JLT.
Uniform standards are relaxed. Wear something patriotic.
Attached is the updated Troop 37 Disciplinary Policy. We would ask that everyone (parents and scouts) read it and sign the last page. The signature page must be handed in at the time of registration.
First Class Requirement 10 is “Invite a Friend to Join Scouting”, so here is your chance to fulfill that requirement and invite someone to join. If you get someone to join, you get a “Recruiter” patch for your uniform. Attached is a recruiting flyer. Please put on your FB page, etc.
Junior Leader Training- September 18-20 at Pouch Camp. If you received an invitation to JLT, please return the application to me on Friday, along with the attached Permission Slip and payment of $45.
Washington D.C.- our first Troop wide trip of the year will be to Washington D.C. during Columbus Day weekend, October 9-11. We will be taking a tour of the Capitol Building, visiting the Washington Monument and, time permitting, visiting some of the Smithsonian Museums and Lincoln, Jefferson and WW II memorials. The cost of the trip is $75. Permission slip is attached. Payment is due ASAP, but no later than September 25.
Religious Emblems-Mrs. Perera and Mr. Jerome will once again be running the Catholic Religious Emblems program. Scouts have the opportunity to earn the Ad Altar Dei Medal (grade school) or Pope Pius Medal (high school). Dates for the Religious Emblems meetings are on the calendar. If interested, please see Mrs. Perera on Friday.
