Troop 37 News - 1/5/2026

Good morning and Happy New Year.

No Troop Meeting- No Be Bo Sco Trip.  Further information to follow.

Parents Committee Meeting- Wednesday, January 7 at 7:30.  Link may be found here .  We are going to do something different this month.  In addition to discussing upcoming events, we want to hear from parents about any issues they have with anything or anyone.  If there are things you do not like we do or things that you think we should do, this is the chance to discuss them.  We cannot deal with any issues if we do not know about them, so please plan to join and discuss.  This is a big opportunity to improve the Troop,

Klondike Derby- Saturday January 31 at 8am at Pouch Camp- Two-time defending champion Troop 37 will be looking for the Threepeat.  Cost is $20 due by Friday, January 23.

February Trip- We will be cabin camping at Winnebago Scout Reservation in Rockaway, NJ from February 20-22. We plan to do the 5-mile hike with a compass that we were supposed to do last month.  Cost is $45.  Payment is due as soon as possible, but no later than Friday, February 8.

Valley Forge Encampment- March 6-8- See what life was like for the Continental Army.  See attached flyer.  Cost for the trip is $50 pp.  Pay by January 16 to guarantee registration.  We will register people after that date as space remains available for the event.  Permission slip is attached.

SUNY Maritime Camp-o-Ree- this was originally scheduled for April 3-5.  They apparently realized that was Easter weekend and moved it to March 27-29. Yes, we are now going to have 2 trips in March, but they are special trips and we do not control the dates.  There will be no trip in April, but there may be another special event.  Further info about Maritime Camp-o-Ree to be provided very shortly.
