Troop News - 11/13/2023
Friday, November 17- Regular Troop Meeting at 7:30
Everyone going on the backpacking trip needs to come to the meeting with their backpacks packed for the trip. We will be having a gear shakedown and will distribute food and other gear. Each Patrol is going to have to divide up lunch and dinner for Saturday and breakfast for Sunday in addition to backpacking stoves, etc., so it is important everyone is in attendance. Everyone is going to leave their backpacks at the school and then return at 8 am Saturday morning to begin the hike to Pouch.
Scouts not going on the trip will have another activity.
Attached is the document about the trip with packing information, etc. that you should have received at the last meeting. Please make sure to check the weather for Saturday as it may be wet and/or cold.

December Camping Trip- at the request of the older scouts, we have planned a 14 and over camping trip at Pouch Camp from December 9-10. The is a one-night trip in lean tos/tents. You must by 14 by the time of the trip. Cost is $25. Permission slip is attached. Payment is due ASAP, but no later than Friday, December 1.
January Camping Trip- We will be cabin camping at Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco in Hardwick New Jersey from Friday, January 12 to Sunday, January 14. This trip is back by popular demand, as No-Be-Bo-Sco is where the legendary horror movie, Friday the 13th was filmed and which we watched on last year’s trip as one of the 2 cabins we reserved is in the movie. Given this, on Saturday night, we will be showing Friday the 13th Part 2 in that cabin. With the understanding that not every parent will want their scout to watch the movie, we will have an alternate movie/event in the other cabin for those not wanting to watch Jason and company. On the attached permission slip, there is a line to give or withhold permission to watch the movie. Please make sure you check it. Cost is $35 and payment is due by January 5, 2024. Please also note that we will be doing the same hike we did on this trip last year. The hike is only a little over 3 miles, however it is a little strenuous.
Maritime Camp-o-Ree- attached is the list of people I registered for the Camp-o-Ree. Cost is $68 scout and $45 per leader. I do not know when the money is due yet, but you are free to pay now.
