Regular Troop Meeting- Friday, May 24 at 7:30

  • We will be having elections for the Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s National Honor Society.  This year, we have 14 scouts who are eligible for election.  In order to have a valid election, 50% of registered scouts (21) must be present, so please make every effort to attend.

  • After that, in recognition of our performance at the Camporee, we will have a fun meeting of games and maybe some snacks

  • Please wear Class A uniform for the election.  You can wear a Class B under it and change out of Class A after the election if you like

Flags on Graves- Saturday, May 25 at 10 am- Silver Mount Cemetery, 918 Victory Boulevard- see the attached flyer

  • We will be placing flags on veterans’ graves in honor of Memorial Day.  We will also be assisting the cemetery in a project they are working on by taking photos of the graves, so please bring your phones.

  • Class A uniforms

  • They are buying us pizza for helping out, so for headcount purposes, if you have not done so, please let me know by Wednesday if you will be attending

Memorial Day Parade – Monday, May 27- in the continuation of a long-standing tradition, Troop 37 will be handing out Flags to spectators at the Staten Island Memorial Day Parade on Forest Avenue along the Parade route just prior to the start of the Parade.  Class A Uniform. We will meet at 11:20 am at the N/E Corner of Forest Avenue and Hart Boulevard. Bring a Water Bottle. We need your help as we have a few thousand Flags to hand out. We are usually done by 12:30 pm. Pickup location will be at the Chase Bank, 1480 Forest Avenue - between Marianne Street and Livermore Avenue.

Hawk Mountain Info- two changes.  Most importantly, the Dietary Restriction Form (attached) must be submitted to Hawk before 6/14.  As such, we need it no later than the meeting on Friday, June 7.  Please submit the form even if you have no dietary restrictions.  Also, we learned yesterday that the Friday night chicken Dinner is $16, not $15.  All Hawk Mountain forms, including the medical form, may be found on the website.

Scout Night with the Ferryhawks -On Friday, May 31, instead of a Troop Meeting, you have the opportunity to attend Scout Night with the Ferry Hawks.  Please see the attached flyer.  As you will see, there are different packages.  $3 from each ticket purchase goes back GNYC.  If interested, please follow the directions on the flyer to purchase tickets, the purchases are not being done through the Troop.
