Troop 37 News 1/13/26

Regular Troop Meeting- Friday, January 16, 2026 at 7:30

• Class A Uniforms- Uniform Inspections for Patrol Points

• We are getting back to basics and reviewing the 6 Boy Scout Knots- square knot, sheet bend, bowline, clove hitch, two half-hitches and taut line hitch.  Refreshers may be found here

• Program Patrol- Striking Cobras

• Service Patrol- Rattlesnakes.  Please arrive by 7:15 to set up.

Klondike Derby- Saturday January 31 at 8am at Pouch Camp- Two-time defending champion Troop 37 will be looking for the Threepeat.  Cost is $20 due by Friday, January 23.

February Trip- We will be cabin camping at Winnebago Scout Reservation in Rockaway, NJ from February 20-22. We plan to do the 5-mile hike with a compass that we were supposed to do last month.  Cost is $45.  Payment is due as soon as possible, but no later thanFriday, February 8.

Valley Forge Encampment- March 6-8- See what life was like for the Continental Army.  See attached flyer.  Cost for the trip is $50 pp.  Pay by this Friday, January 16 to guarantee registration.  We will register people after that date as space remains available for the event.  Permission slip is attached.

SUNY Maritime Camp-o-Ree- March 27-29. I will be registering people when registration opens this Wednesday and fills up fast,  If you want to go, please e-mail me ASAP and provide your shirt size.  You can pay at the next meeting.  Cost is $75 per scout and $50 per leader.  Permission slip is attached. Scout Sunday Brunch- Sunday, February 8 in the gym, after 10:30 mass. As usual, we will be having our usual Court of Honor and catered brunch.  All parents are strongly encouraged to attend. Cost is $25 pp for non-scouts.  Scouts are covered by the Troop, but we need to know who is going for headcount purposes.  Payment is due by Friday, January 30.
