No Be Bo Sco Information

If you told me you were going on this trip within the last week, please complete and bring the attached permission slip with you on Friday.  Besides needing the slip to allow you to camp, I need to know who is allowed to watch Friday 13th Part 2.  If you have not yet paid, please pay Suja at the next meeting.

We will be working on Hiking and Map and Compass Skills. On Saturday, we will be going on a hike to complete Second Class Requirement 3b- “Using a compass and map together, take a 5-mile hike.” You must bring a compass.

We will be cabin camping however it is still going to be cold and we are going to be outdoors on Saturday, so dress appropriately.  Check the weather.  It may rain.  Dress in layers and have a hat and gloves.  No jeans.  No cotton.

Pack using a duffle bag.  No backpacks or chairs.  We have limited space.

The Patrol list for the weekend is attached.  Adults will be doing the cooking.

We will be meeting at the shed at 4:30 on Friday.  Please make sure you have the following:

  • A sandwich for Friday night

  • Scout Handbook and pen. We may be working on advancements.

  • Sleeping bag and pillow – you do not need a sleeping pad

  • Broken in hiking boots (no sneakers) with several pairs of socks

  • Rain Gear

  • A day pack containing the 10 essentials (listed in the attachment)

  • Water bottle

  • You do not need a mess kit but must bring a cup to drink out of

Older scouts- Saturday afternoon would be a good time to work on any of the Citizenship Merit badges you still need.

If you can leave the phones at home, leave them at home.  If not, I do not want to see them.  Please make sure all clothing items have the scout’s name on it.

If Jason does not get us, we should hopefully be back by 10.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
